Remembering Great Grandma Flossie
My last living grandparent died 2 weeks ago. She was a young 98 :) The hardest thing for me was to watch my Dad and Mom go through it all. Another hard thing for me was that my children would not have many memories of her. Cameron and Grace know who she was and have pictures taken with her. Audrey and Madilynn are more limited. Then God reminded me she can be in the little things. The other day Audrey asked for eggs to be cooked the Grandma Flossie way. My love of home schooling comes from the teachers heart passed down from her. , Even Maddie has a piece of her.
After the funeral, Aunt Liz had a box with a few of Grandmas things. Cameron found a small stuffed puppy and gave it to Madilynn. (She LOVES dogs) I didn't think much about it at the time, and we headed home. Yesterday Maddie was playing with the small puppy. When I asked who she was playing with she responded, "This is my Flossie dog" And so that small puppy, Flossie Dog as Maddie calls it, is a daily reminder of my Grandma.
