Family Adventures (Not as cool as Grandpa Yoders)

Family walks are a staple in this house

It's a great way to get some sun and exercise

Sometimes "friends" will join us like Purple Bunny, sometimes we bring a Wal-Mart bag and pick up trash as we go, but usually it is just bikes and strollers. On a walk last week we discovered an "island" in a cul-de-sac on the next street over. There is a large evergreen growing on one end, shrub bushes bordering the other side. In the middle of all the greenery sits a large climbing rock. After much discussion the kids decided to call our discovery, Jungle Rock Island.

Now it is a requirement to stop and play on it every walk we take

Imaginations soar as they explore it and play together

It may not hold a candle to Grandpa Yoder's walks in the woods, fields and slimy pond, but it is our niche of nature in the city
