Today was our field trip to Eagle Creek Park to explore the Earth Discovery Center. (We joined a Home school co-op to take trips like this) We started the morning with a nature hike with our guide Jay. The weather was perfect, 60's and sunny. Along our walk, we identified different trees and smelled the leaves of plants that reminded us of green peppers and one that smelled like fruity pebbles. After our informative hike, we spent the rest of the morning in the nature center. A Naturalist taught us about Indiana reptiles and amphibians. We touched turtles and frogs, thank the Lord for hand sanitizer! Then we were off to the Water Lab. It was there that we visited 6 different stations filled with tiny creatures, plants and other slimy things. Once again, thank the Lord for hand sanitizer. We had a great time on our first field trip with Heritage Builders and look forward to many more.
