This week has been filled with many outings since we completed school last week. Cameron and Grace are excited to be done with 1st & 2nd grade and look forward to next fall. Audrey is excited too as she will be starting curriculum in August with her older siblings. So we took the week and had a end of the school year blast. Our first stop was the Indianapolis Zoo and taking part of Zoopolis 500.
The city of Indianapolis is racing central come May. Activities are planned all month long throughout the city, gearing up for the Race this Sunday. One such event happens at the Zoo. The tortoises compete for the checkered flag. It was quite a spectacle. Some tortoises gave up part way down the track while the others smelled the feast awaiting them at the finish line. The kids loved rooting for who they thought would win. We got to see the official Pace car of the Race, meet racing champ Tony Kanaan, drink free victory milk, and cheer for some slow but steady tortoises.
